Therefore, it needs small batches plastic parts before mass production. Thoes can be manufacturered by prototyping or injection molding, but by contrast the cost of injection molding is very high.

The Vacuum Casting is an economic choose for small batch plastic parts production. Usually, made a master first, and then make a mold out of silicone, and the parts are made of polyurethane material through the process of vacuum casting. It can accurately copy the structure, details and texture of the master, and have the same surface finishing as the master.

So,the Vacuum Casting process is widely used for rapid engineering testing, design, proof of concept, sales and display.

Production Time Short

After received orders, we will quickly make a master, and then produce silicone molds in a few days, and next use molds to vac casting polyurethane products. Generally speaking, the production time is 10-15 days, depending on the product structure, size and quantity. Compared with the steel mold injection parts (30 ~ 90 days), it can shorten the time by 90%, and the cost is 1/10 of that of injection mold.
Support Overmolding

We can combine two different materials on the same object through the secondary vacu casting technology, it cover the hard part with soft part. Using this way, the product could have two-color appearance.

In addition, we can also put the metal parts, sheet metal parts or inserts into the mold, and then pour polyurethane material. It could meet the actual needs for the use function and mechanical strength of products.
Good Copy Performance

The silicone mold has excellent simulation and very low shrinkage, which can well reproduce the subtle characteristics of the master, and will not lose the dimensional accuracy of the parts. The Vaccum Casting is an excellent small batch processing technology similar to injection molding.

Make a Master

Before making a mold, need to make a master. It is mostly made of ABS by 3D printing, sometimes we also conserder to make it by CNC, it depends on the customer's quality requirements for the product.
Make Silicone Mold

After the master finished, make the mold base to fix the master, and pouring liquid silicone. After 8 hours of drying, open the mold to take out the master, and then the silicone mold is done.

Vacuum Casting

Pour liquid product material into the silicone mold and cure it in a 60 ° - 70 ° incubator for 30-60 minutes before demoulding. If necessary, conduct secondary curing in a 70 ° - 80 ° incubator for 2-3 hours. After curing, take the part out of the silicone mold,and then repeat this cycle. Under normal circumstances, the lifetime of silicone mold is 10-15 times.

In fact, we can provide a lot of polyurethane as vacuum casting materials, fox example the materials with physical properties similar to commonly used ABS, PP, PA and POM etc, or similar to transparent PC and PMMA, or soft materials similar to silicone (40 ~ 90 shore).

Lifetime of Silicone Mold

■ Each mold can copy up to 15 pieces, while if the parts require high quality (such as transparent or complex structure), one mold can only make 10pieces.
